It is the House’s newest Excellence, interpreted in two iterations – as a double-faced fabric and a fine knitting yarn –, both developed at Loro Piana’s state-of-the-art facilities in Roccapietra and Quarona, Italy, following two years of extensive research.

A meld of precious raw materials

Loro Piana Royal Lightness® is the first Excellence to be crafted from a blend of fibres, starting with a base in Mulberry silk that is fused with ultra-fine cashmere for the fabric and with Merino wool for the knitwear yarn.

Rooted in a time-honoured heritage

Loro Piana Royal Lightness® is incredibly gossamer and nearly impossible to knit. Working with such fine fibres requires a distinctive know-how to prevent breaking the threads.
